Thomas A. Utzinger is a lawyer, consultant, and writer with a background in environmental and energy law and corporate and securities law. He has worked in Washington D.C. and the New York area and lives in New Jersey.

Thomas began his career at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where he assisted in implementing Bush Administration policies related to the electric power sector. Subsequently, working as an associate attorney at Riker Danzig LLP and Crowell & Moring LLP, Thomas handled matters involving environmental regulation and litigation, commercial real estate transactions, corporate transactions, and government relations. He then joined PSEG as an in-house corporate counsel, providing regulatory, transactional, and corporate governance services for the company’s various subsidiaries. Thomas now applies this broad experience as a consultant.

Thomas is a prolific writer, having authored and co-authored articles and other works for several legal and business publications. His most recent contributions have been included in the American Bar Association’s “Year in Review” compilations.

Thomas earned a B.A. in History from Cornell University, a J.D. from Boston University School of Law, and an LL.M. in Environmental Law from The George Washington University Law School. He is admitted to practice law in Washington D.C., New York, and New Jersey.

Outside of work, Thomas enjoys golf and travel. He is also a pilot with flight time in Cessna, Cirrus, Piper, and Diamond aircraft.
